Buckeye District has several Venture crews that specialize in a certain kind of fun. These units are listed below along with links to their websites and contact information for their leaders. Remember, to join these units you must be a young man or woman who is either 15 years old OR 14 years old and has completed the 8th grade.
Crew 45 - Friends of NRA Worthington
A co-ed Venturing Crew for youth who are interested in shooting sports. This crew meets at Powder Room in Powell.
Normally meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
Crew 905 - Youth Aviation Adventure
A co-ed Venturing Crew for youth who are interested in learning to fly. This crew meets at Don Scott Field (the OSU airport). Activities include fly-outs, ground school topics, visits to FAA and other aviation facilites and more.
Normally meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at the OSU airport.
Ship 280 - Leatherlips Yacht Club
A co-ed Sea Scout Ship for youth with interests in sailing. The ship meets at Leatherlips Yacht Club in Shawnee Hills, just north of O’Shaughnessy Dam. Ship 280 has a strong interest in racing, but new members do not need any experience at sailing.
Normally meets Sundays at 4:00 PM April through October at Leatherlips Yacht Club, near the Columbus Zoo (see the website link). Winter meetings vary, contact one of the above leaders for details.
Crew 865 - Ohio Historical Society
A co-ed crew for youth interested in history and helping the Ohio Historical Society and Ohio Village with their programs.
